Career Opportunities

Traditionally, career opportunities for EKU graduates in clinical psychology have been varied and numerous.  Graduates have found rewarding positions in community mental health centers, state hospitals, substance abuse centers, rehabilitation centers, correctional centers, and partial hospitalization programs among other settings.  A number of clinical graduates have also assumed administrative positions.  Graduates who complete the certification program will be prepared to work with deaf and hearing clients in a variety of inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.

Students may also prepare themselves for further graduate work in psychology.  A substantial number of past graduates have pursued doctoral degrees.   Students are encouraged to become involved with faculty in their various research projects and receive credit for research experiences through enrolling for master's research project or master's thesis credit.
